About Us

Sandrey and Sellers is an inspiring writing team that exemplifies an Einsteinian bit of wisdom about creativity: "A rational mind is a faithful servant; an intuitive mind is a sacred gift." Alexander Sandrey, the composer, and his lyricist partner, Carolyn Sellers are indeed served faithfully by their well-balanced minds; but more importantly, each partner is blessed by generous helpings of intuition which invariably supply the missing links to whatever the other is lacking.

It all began in the mid-90's when Alex Sandrey, who spent most of his working days in the family's Florida hotel business, was looking for someone to write lyrics to his engaging but wordless melodies. Though Alex, a versatile musician, has a unique talent for coming up with unusual song concepts and appropriate melodic settings, he realized he needed someone with a strong literary bent to translate his ideas into lyric reality. Enter Carolyn Sellers! Carolyn, who has a lifelong passion for writing, came to Florida from California where she was able to practice and hone her writing skills by working for several outstanding attorneys. Arriving in the Florida Keys by what now appears to have been Divine Intervention, she accepted a managerial position in the hotel owned by Alex's family. It was not long thereafter when Carolyn and Alex discovered their mutual interest in writing songs and musical material for cabarets and more ambitious projects. The result of this creative partnership is an enviable catalogue of memorable compositions which cover a wide array of subjects and emotions. Twenty-four of their songs are presented in their off-Broadway-type musical production, "WHAT IF...". What unites Alex and Carolyn in this writing relationship is their mutual appreciation of each other's abilities, their daring to scale new professional heights and their realization that, in Barbra Streisand's words, "It is a privilege to be able to work in a business where one has a chance to take chances!"

playwriteSusan Saiger Honig - The music was in place when Sandrey and Sellers approached Susan to write the book for their songs. "I listened to the CD they had produced and I knew they had the material to make a great story. I loved their music and my main objective was to stay true to their vision and write a story that audiences could relate to. " Mission accomplished.

Susan lived in Los Angeles for 17 years before moving to Florida in 1996. A veteran of the stage and screen, she also collaborated in the writing of several plays and countless comedy sketches. Having performed at the Improv Comedy Store and Laugh Factory as an improvisational actor, she has the tools to write effective diaolgue. Her favorite credit and what she is best known for is the role of Doris the Dominatrix in the smash cult film EATING RAOUL. After over a decade of plum acting roles in films such as THE PRESIDIO, with Sean Connery, Susan retired from performing to raise her three children with her husband, Jeff. Her family has been very supportive of the turn her career has taken. She would like to thank her Mom who introduced her to this terrific writing duo!
